There is nothing wrong with steel. It has been used for reinforcement for many years and has proven effective. So why choose carbon fiber reinforcement?
Imagine an industrial facility with lighting fixtures, HVAC systems, ventilation, and sprinklers running in all directions. Reinforcing such a ceiling requires dismantling everything. This is feasible, provided that the steel beam can be brought into the building without needing to tear down a wall.
3 mm Carbon Fiber Reinforcement
Carbon fiber reinforcement uses lightweight, thin, and strong carbon fiber. A 3 mm epoxy-bonded layer provides the same tensile strength as an 18 cm steel beam. Carbon fiber is also ideal for cutting openings in ceilings, eliminating the need for support columns that could interfere with operations—reinforcement around the opening is sufficient.
